Exercise is Medicine
This course will examine the evidence related to how regular physical activity benefits health and influences key chronic conditions such as metabolic syndrome, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and mental health. A focus will be placed on the pathophysiology, mechanisms of exercise as medicine, exercise prescription, and contraindications to exercise. The course will culminate
with the importance of regular physical activity in public health and potential medical prescription. (Cross-listed with HE435)
Prerequisites: (KP221 or HN210) AND (KP222 or HN220) and registration status in year 3 or 4 of Honours BKin or HE program.
